Travel back in time
The museum takes you on a journey back in time. Since 1986, the Hague Historical Museum has been located where the militiamen of the Sebastiaan Gilde met from 1636 onwards. Cityscapes and portraits, special and everyday objects and stories bring The Hague's past to life.
Receptions, dinners, lectures and more
Our museum offers various options for organizing receptions, exclusive dinners, lunches, corporate events, meetings and lectures. A professional tour of the permanent and temporary exhibitions gives your visit extra shine and depth. An overview of the current exhibitions can be found here.
The space we used was perfect. The fact that we could also use the courtyard was ideal with the warm weather. The care provided by all facility staff made us feel welcome.
Atmospheric Schutterszaal and Salon
You can rent two different rooms in our historical museum. The Schutterszaal was originally the banquet hall of the militia and we restored it to its former glory. The room offers a fantastic view of the Hofvijver and the historic ambiance makes this room perfect for various occasions (up to 85 people). Are you with a smaller group? Then you can visit the atmospheric Salon (up to 45 people), a replica of a 19th-century period room.

The museum has excellent contacts with a number of renowned caterers. We also offer you the option of choosing your own caterer. We are happy to give you some advise!
